>:My house rule regarding complimentary skills is to replace the two-to-one
>:success mechanic by dividing the complimentary skill by two and rounding
>:down to determine the number of additional dice. Pretty much the same
>:outcome, just a different way of approaching it.

> That really isn't quite the same. Take a TN of 6. With a
>(complementary) skill of 4, your chance of getting (at least) 2 successes is
>22%. Your chance of getting 4 is less than 1%. If you roll 2 dice, your
>chance of at least on six is 30%, and you get 2 almost 3% of the time.
>Complmentary dice are more effective with your method.
> There is also maybe the bigger difference that you must get at least one
>success with normal skill dice for complimentary successes to count at all.
>You could use diffrent colord dice for the (halved) complimentary skill, you
>didn't say, but adding them right into the roll without removing this
>restriction makes them MUCH more effective.
Eep! Okay, I'm not a statistician, and didn't realize what a difference it
was. Also, I completely missed the bit in the rules that the normal skill
dice needed to succeed before the complimentary dice would take effect.
Thanks for pointing that out Mongooose <starts editing his house rules>.
