Nope. I meant why the principal wouldn't work. There is no logical reason
for a CED to not work with any skillsoft chip it has access to regardless
of source.

As of the Cannon Companion, you can get multiple skillsoft on one
skillsoft chip. :P~

If more than one skillsoft has access to a CED, the CED dice pool must be
divided amongst the skillsofts (as the user wishes.)

<House Rule>
Since the CED doesn't make sense as is (even game balance can't really be
argued as a rationale for the mechanics), I think I will implement the
following house rule:
CEDs are per skillwires system. All loaded (active?) skillsofts have
access to the CED dice pool. This makes the limitation of restricting the
CED to the skillwire's rating more logical. Also, it restricts the
potential effectiveness of CEDs (by not allowing multiple CEDs to grant
multiple dice pools) while increasing their general effectiveness (by
making the CED dice pool apply to all loaded skillsofts.). Hopefully, the
two balance each other out.
</House Rule>
