It is a bit big, though....
Actually, both the Oakland airport and SFO are near the water, but on
opposite sides of the bay. In case you have to miss the runway, it is
better to hit soft water than hard ground. Funny thing is, IIRC, there use
to be this flight that went from Oakland to SFO to pick up more
passengers. They didn't even bother to retract the landing gear.
