Forgive me if this comes across as flame, and it probably will, but
quite frankly the suggestion that Mr. Hayden made about all cars being geared
to go 120kph seems absolutely ludicrous to me. All cars are not, and never
would be designed to have the exact same speed. That's like saying, "Yeah, my
Yugo and my ZR1 have the same cruising speed, but the Yugo gets better
mileage..." I'm sorry, but that just doesn't work, and in fact it's the most
absurd suggestion I've heard in the whole time that this list has existed...

But you forget, a Yugo not only has a rubber band engine, but the ZR1 has
accessories like turbo, fuel-injection, and whatever else detroit decides
to put into it.

What we would be doing is saying: a basic, unaccessorized car is geared
towards X speed, and adding accessories can dramatically change that
speed.

What it does is give us a simple BASE to start everythign from, so that in
the end the player only has to go: ok, I get 5 kph for this, and 10 kph
for that and another 20 for this. This makes my cruising now 155kph!.

See, that's where differentiation between vehicles comes into play.
