Ok, I've finally gotten enough time to sit down and take a good
look at the equations that have been thrown around and I'm going to
try to comment on them.

First, nothing I say is meant as a flame.

-------------------------------------------------

Ok, I would like to commend everyone on cracking open their
physics books and doing some real solid research. I actually dug
mine out and leafed through it to.

Unfortunately, I think we have a very small nebulous problem with
these proposals. They are too involving for a lot of people.

This is not to say they aren't realistic, but I know that the
average player is going to want to spend as little time as
necessary crunching numbers. And every time we force a player to
keep track of another number we are moving away from our
underlying premise of simplicity.

Now I enjoy crunching digits as an interesting deversion, and I
think that in general net.people are much more able to do
mathematics, but I think that everything that is being thrown
around is just a bit too much for the average person to have to
deal with for something as trivial as a vehicle. I actually had to
read everything several times before I had a grasp of where
exactly everything was going; and I'll be honest, I'm still
somewhat overwhelmed.

I don't mean to snub anyone's creativity here, but I really think
that we need to put the physics books up and come up with a more
simplistic method of computing these stats. It might mean that we
are a little less realistic and a little more arbitrary, but in
the end it will both speed design and save nerves.

Comments, as always, are encouraged.
