The only problem with your plan is that you'll have a linear acceleration
curve, whereas is the real world, the closer you get to your top speed, the
slower you accelerate. However, it DOES have the advantage of simplicity.

Actually, someone was talking yesterday ( I can't remember who) about the
new generation of transmissions yields a liniar acceleration curve.

The one I jsut posted certainly does have the advantage of simplicity, but
is it realistic enough?
