I'm afraid, as much as I like the cyberpunk theme, that I cannot agree with
the Foxmaster.

FASA has set a tone for their (and our) Shadowrun world that isn't a toxic
waster zone, ala Bladerunner. Instead of crushing the entire globe, they
have elected to make things relatively similar to how they are now. In other
words, kinda crappy, but with the worst of it all being on the personal
level.

That has been the FASA was with SR. The big picture might not look that bad,
but everywhere you go, there is a grimy shadow world that is a nightmare for
most. And that is why...

I would like to request runner comments for the article I submitted last
week. Please, as a writer, think about what you are going to have a
shadowrunner comment on. So nothing half-assed, half-baked, or half-cocked.
Or half-anything for that matter.

However, please feel free to post, in context, shadowrunner comments (in the
current style) that opens things up a bit. Iceland may be dreadfully boring
on the surface, but maybe there is a thriving underground or something. We
don't need comments for every nation, but a "shadow comment" or two would be
great. That would allow the injection of darker edge to the document and the
globe, without the need for trashing entire nations.

Post away!!

You're not on ShadowRN, right? Two or three weeks ago, we had quite an
interesting discussion about SR sourcebooks and how many seem to try and
"out-destruct" the others -- the Germany Sourcebook being a prime example.

I'll read through the posts and see what, if anything, I feel the need to
add. I've got spare time again from now on :)

At least the Foxmaster destroyed *his* own city :)

And I am near Gurth's pain about old Netherlands, see what they did to
southern Italy! A desert! Gawsh... Things in sixty years from now won't be
like now. Look at 60 years ago for an example. Major trends will be
balkanization, race mixing, rich-poor separation, mind control (not by
magic:). Add to this what FASA planned (awakening, NAN rise, the crash of
29, eurowars, etc...) and the overall picture will not be good. Sure,
things will be almost the same, or better, like now - for rich, safe, corp
people - but, with this premises, I think the darker side will be more
evident than now.
