Meine Kameraden:

The holidays are upon us, and I must regrettably take my leave of
you, loathe as I am to do so. During my absence -- Hayden should be along
approximately 5 January -- all administrative questions should be directed
to either Herrn Carter or Herrn Falk for ShadowTK and NERPS, respectively.
Further inquiries, e.g. ShadowRN should either be addressed to the Hearn
administrators or await Hayden's return.

I apologize for the inconvenience, meine Kameraden, although I
fear 'tis unavoidable; I must needs embark in the hour.

"'Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the land
Doom's subjects slept soundly
in the palm of his hand."

I extend to each and every one of you my sincere wishes for the merriest
of Christmases and the happiest of New Years this holiday season.

I know what follows qualifies as a slight infusion of religion on the list;
but given the trends of commercialization of yuletime o'er the last several
decades, I believe it to be apropos to the season -- even if I do vouchsafe
that Christmas is an amalgamation (in terms of symbology) of the observance
of the birth of the Messiah and the wintertime Festival of Lights.

This is the Christmas Eve sermon from the holiday classic, "The Bishop's Wife."

Tonight I want to tell you the story of an empty stocking...

Once upon a midnight clear there was a child's cry,
a blazing star hung over a stable, and Wise Men came
with birthday gifts.

We haven't forgotten that night down the centuries.
We celebrate it with stars hung upon the Christmas
tree, the cry of bells, and with gifts--especially
with gifts. We buy them and wrap them and put them
under the tree.

I give you a book. You give me a tie. Aunt Martha
always wanted an orange squeezer. Uncle Harry could
use a new pipe. Oh, we forget no one, adult or child.
All the stockings are filled -- all that is, except
one, and we have even forgotten to hang it up.

The stocking for the child born in a manger. It's
His birthday we are celebrating; don't ever let us
forget that.

Let us ask ourselves what He would wish for most, and
then let each put in his share: Loving kindness, warm
hearts, and the stretched out hand of tolerance.

All the shining gifts which make Peace on Earth.

Froeliche Weihnachten!
