Hello, this is your new editor here...
I don't really think there is a need for me to introduce myself, I think
that after 1600+ posts on ShadowRN most of you will be familiar with me
already :)

So, unless someone wants me to introduce myself anyway, I'll get right to
the point, which is that we need a subject for the next NERPS book. J.D. is
busy editing Shadowlore II (hopefully :) so in the meantime I think we can
at least try and formulate ideas on what to do next.
I myself was thinking of doing something to steer SR a bit back toward its
"cyberpunk" roots, like by writing something about the backstreets of
Seattle (or Denver). Not in the way like it was done for the Foundations
book, though I don't really have any ideas on it otherwise. Maybe the
reduced-magic areas suggested on ShadowRN some time ago could also be worked
out a bit better.

So, post your suggestions here on the list so we can see what is most wanted
at the moment... (NERPS Most Wanted, starring... :)

Would the story be based on one person or multiple people in a group or what?
Also, can we just go crazy with ideas or are there limitations to what it can beabout?

Take a look at the NERPS FAQ, which I sent you when you
subscribed, for basic information about the NERPS projects and the
guidelines they've all adhered to so far.

How about:

Gang profiles (who ARE the Leather Devils, anyway?)
Neighborhood profiles (not every spot in the Barrens is the same...)
Business profiles (at street level, not high-rise level.. Just how many
Stuffer Shacks are there in Seattle?)

And finally, the part I'd really be interested in:

Fixers! Who are they? What goes on behind the scenes? How do they manage
to keep up all these connections, and STILL be there in the corner of the
nightclub whenever the PC's go looking for them? I'd love to see some rules
on how fixers operate.. Maybe (just _maybe_) some means of operating them
as a PC archetype?

Just a few ideas.. "What do you think, sirs?"

Blessings,

_TNX._

That sounds like a good idea.

I was thinking of making something like a cross between Sprawl Sites and the
Seattle Sourcebook, maybe with fiction thrown in for good measure... Not
much in the ways of game mechanics, but lots of background material on
places, people, things, and so on.

Fine, we seem in for a deluge of magic from FASA what with Atzlan,
cybermancy and Awakenings still to come. Also this does not croos
virtual realities 2 or riggers 2 both of which are comming. Reading
the Gencon report Organised crime seems set back a long way again as
a FASA book.

dirt similar the corp shadowfiles stuff on a whole pile of 2nd
through n'th tier corporations and businesses would not go amiss, the
FASA literture does have some stuff in country sourcebooks but its
often far to thin to give you a real picture of the corp, while the
shadowfiles are very good, assuming you want an AAA corp.

Organized crime shouldn't be in the book IMHO, more like disorganized crime
-- I think it would be best to do street gangs, petty criminals, the sort of
things Joe Average runs into on the street on his way to work.

Very good idea, we should include Shadowfiles stats I think...

agreed, this is much more in need. FASA will no doubt get arround to
dealing with the yaks etc eventually, or you can just borrow another
games source on them. It would also make a nice change to dealing
with mafia and yaks all the time. Never mind being more appropriate
level for street characters.
