How many people around here remember JD Falk? Most of you
should. In fact, are you still lurking out there JD?

I've spotted JD's name yet again in a computer publication.
Six month ago I spotted JD's name being listed as a Top 50
influential people on the Internet list member by some
publication I can't remember. I just read his name, with a
quote, in the most recent issue of NetGuide magazine. Being
quoted in regards to Internet myths...

Just a fun FYI to the group. If someone wants to forward
this to the other SR lists he used to be a part of, go
ahead.

Yup yup..I took his job(s), I should know the guy :) I don't think he
lurks anymore though, he's an awful busy guy, we haven't talked in months.

Which months issue?/whats on the cover? I'm broke, but I can scrounge 6
bucks for a mag to see JD's name in print. Someday, maybe if I do my job
well, I'll be as famous as him... :)

I'll forward it to 'RN, maybe someone else can toss it over to Plot-D..

Here's the specific dirt so anyone (Gurth) can at least go
into the bookstore and look at the magazine.

It's the March 1997 issue of NetGuide magazine. Nothing
really graphical or interesting on the cover. The story is
in the NewsCam/politics section, entitled "Finding Truth
Amid the Incredible," which is on pgs. 28 and 29 of the
hardcopy. The spine of the mag says "1,003 free
things/ActiveX explained." (Free stuff is always good!)

You should also be able to find the quote on the online
version of the publication, which is at:

http://www.netguide.com/

Check it out.

oh yes.

And hello
You've been lurking a lot yourself though haven't you.

While here, i assume everyone thats writting NAG rest of the world is
busy on stuff hence no posts.
Also what about shadowlore 2? I believe JD was supposed to be
formatting this (combining NEPRS Dragons and other paranormal
animals, and something else) but suspect he has since been far too
busy to do it as he's had ages and ages now.
Are you out there JD? do you have time or does someone else need to
do it, in which case does anyone have all the files, and does anyone
have the time?

I'd be happy to edit SL2, although it would have to wait a month or two as
I'm going to be busy in the meantime. I don't have any of the files, so
someone would have to contact JD and ask him to hand them over.

I had hoped you would have more contact with JD than me, i only knew
him as a list member etc. I should have his email someplace if i've
got an old posting of his filed, but it might have changed. I'll run
a check on subscribers to the list as well, i actually got the
Shadowrn list recently when i needed it! never worked before we were
on itribe for me.

On material i probably have a lot of the origonal post filed away
someplace from dragons and paranormal animals, but they will be in
raw 'as submitted to the list' form, i doubt i have them all, and the
list backup system is those days involved spare floppies with no
indexing, oh joy.

I just checked his web site and found out that it doesn't
exist anymore.

That's about the only way I knew him too, apart from one or two personal
mail exchanges when I took over as NERPS editor (and that was back in
August '95).

The ones I remember are JDFalk@************.org and JDFalk@****.com.

It would be much easier if we could get JD's files (as far as he's edited
them) instead of a bunch of saved posts. You never know what we might miss
if we go by, for example, your "archive".

Thats what i was thinking. I 'might' have 90% someplace but
identifying the correct files, sorting them out etc would be a
nightmare at the very least. I also suspect they are incomplete.

What is the general opinion, keep waiting, talk to JD, try and get
the files off JD, (in which case who is volunteering :) )
