Anyway, now that I've got that off my chest: Well, as I announced (along
with many others), Ghostview wouldn't read my ShadowLore file properly.
I went it, bit the bullet, started finding out how Ghostview works. Here's
the story (far as I could figure out): Ghostview doesn't look at the fonts
provided in the file, it just looks at names, makes guesses, or just plain
barfs when it sees them. So the columns (in Ghostview) looked like they
overlap. Print a page via Ghostview, and they are overlapped.
Eventually, when I got round to learning how to use gs (ghostscript), I
found that the columns weren't overlapped. Upon examination of the file
with the aid of a local Postscript Guru, I found the fonts were already
included in the file. (Weird, uh??). As a result, if I just did a straight
dump to the printer, it worked. I've got it printing as I speak.
My advice to those people having trouble: If you're not sure, print just
the first 5 pages. (Open up the file. Look for the string '%%Page: ? 6' by
itself, delete everything below and including that line. Save. Print)
If the last page has the columns overlapping, you've got a problem. If
it won't print at all, it was most likely a download error. Try again.
(Now I've got to figure out why they are overlapped on my Mac at home.
*ponder*)
