You're only half a step behind.. Subscribe to the NERPS (Net Enhancements
for Role Playing Shadowrun) list. Check the ShadowRN FAQ for info on how
to subscribe.

There's a project there tentatively called 'NERPS Underworld' to collect
information about the Shadowrun world at street level. What you're talking
about fits right in.

FASA is also releasing an 'Organized Crime' sourcebook sometime next year.
I believe the draft was Nigel Findley's last contribution before he passed
on.

Blessings,

I for one am all for keeping organized crime out of this book. So that would
rule out the yakuza, mafia, etc, but the gangs could go in. If you feel like
writing an article on SR gangs by using modern-day material transplanted to
2055, go ahead and make it a submission :)

Why not run two projects at the same time?

One should be the guide to the rest of the world. The other a 2057
Annual. This Annual would contain new stuff. That is items of gear,
weapons, vehicles, spells, magic things and the like. The format
would be that of a electronic catalog suitably annotated by the NA
community.

Further I think that this publication should be done on an annual
basis. With the articles being collected during the previos year.
This would provied a place for those submissions that are worthy of
being publish yet do not fit with the on going theme.

As to the guide to the world, I have a proceedural suggestion. That
prior to starting writing we go through the following steps.

1. Identify Areas of Intrest (i.e. the places to be covered)
2. Everyone research each of the areas and report back any refernces
to the area in any privously published material (i.e. FASA published
Sourcebooks, Adventures, and Novels, Ka*Ge, Shadowland, NAGEE,
NERPS, and other on-line sources.) This process could be further
organzided by assigning two or three people to groups of matterial
to conduct the research.
3. Consoldate this references in to a single list by area ( we might
want to put this into the final product. It would be a handy
refernce.
4. Then evaluate the first list of areas.
5. Make changes, if any.
6. Pick/Assign areas. Priority should go to individuals from that
area or having a familiarity with it (these bonifides should be
included in the request to write postings.
7 Write the articles/ submissions.

Any thouhts on this cource of action?

Not a bad idea David, but it's something that is going to
have to sit in hopper for a while, due to other interests at
the moment that may conflict. Remember, Gurth and I have
something in the works that we haven't told anyone about,
and it _may_ conflict with your idea. We'll have to see.
But keep the idea going in your head...
