Greets
We live (once a week in my case) in a world that only be described as =
dark. Hunted as much as hunter, we live on the Edge, never knowing what =
the next day may bring. We are familiar with all the cons, from the old =
tricks in the book to the latest bleeding edge technologies designed to =
seperate fools from their cash, data or vital fluids. We know the =
streets, the other hustlers, the pimps, the whores, the junkies, =
mobsters, hackers, enforcers, wheeelers, dealers and stealers. We see =
how the world really works, from the cracks in the supercrete we observe =
the daily ruthless expoitation of the common man and womyn. Everyone is =
equally to blame, from the Megacorps to the Government, from the =
street-trash to the sim-stars. It's an ugly picture, painted in the =
bodily fluids of the millions that make up the cogs of the machine. Our =
mission is to get in, get the juice and get the heck out with our tails =
intact.
But enuff rambling.
The one thing that, for me, has always been lacking in published =
roleplay material has been a real hard look at what it means to be out =
on the streets. We read great fiction pieces (unauthorised of course) by =
the likes of Shopcano, giving us that hard look. We hear about campaigns =
and game sessions where the players are confronted by the harsher =
realities of the fantasy world we share. I want a book that helps others =
into this version of our common world.
People like joygirls and feral homeless kids, locations like strip-clubs =
and mahjong parlors, opium dens and chop-shops. Lets face it, we have =
enuff guns in all the published and un-authorised books to start a war =
with just one copy of each weapon.
Being a new-comer to this list, I am not too sure of how you guys go =
about putting a book together, but I have some ideas. I really do NOT =
want to step on any toes n the process of suggesting this, ( Mr Jury, =
Gurth... tonsa respect.. you guys know the score) but I think itsa =
pretty grooovy concept.
Thanks for listening and please turn those flamethrowers down to light =
'n crispy before hitting the reply button.
