While we're bandying around ideas..

I was thinking about the old charts, and of course I saw a few prob-
lems with them all (never would have guessed, hmm?)...anyway, here's another
possibility that might work.

The ideas we're mostly going on for creation is either making an 'F'
priority or doing 'E' twice. Well, here's another idea on the same concept...
why not just add another 'C'? That's supposed to be average, after all...it
might make characters a little more powerful at startup (stressing LITTLE),
but it would also make a mage/Wild Psi to exist just fine (lots of players
would start as a Wild Psi...and I think that if we allow that, we should make
them to be POTENTIAL adepts. Nothing more. Maybe they would be adepts without
getting any points at all to start with...)

Now, how's THAT for rambling?

[Tim's idea of an addition 'C' category deleted.]

The problem is that it isn't compatible with FASA's rules.

This one really does make sense, IMHO (assuming, of course, that
C really is supposed to be average -- it sounds right, but I'm not quite
sure if it is.) It would also include the idea (I think it was Kyle's)
that, after conversion, many existing Shadowrunners would have what we're
calling "wild" psionic powers.
By the way -- I think we should change the name to something like
either Unrained, Raw, or Natural. In most game systems, wild powers are
uncontrolled (sometimes even uncontrollable), but still pretty powerful
(and yes, I know, **&* is an exception to this.)

Interesting idea, skirvin. We could add another C, then make wild psi
just adepts but get no tech points and must by powers with karma.......

Now that second idea has merit (wild psis must buy stuff later with
karma), although a wild psi should be allowed to get some powers at
creation, not sure how to do it (skill points?)

I still don't like adding another 'c' rating, because is skews FASA's
table. an 'F' doesn't.

But it WAS compatible, if you just make the supposition that all
runners so far are Wild Psis.

Not hugely unreasonable.

(Assuming you use my theories on Wild Psi's, that is.)

And don't forget that noone's going to tell the players any of this.

And certainly not the characters.

(That's probably the best advantage of it...it would allow Psis to
become an influence in an established campaign by having the players begin
to learn it.)
