RE> Experimental shadowland-like interface
To Net Enhancements for Roleplaying Shadowrun<NERPS@********.itribe.net>

Paolo,

I can't seem to submit comments. Is anyone else having
problems? I'm using Netscape Navigator from a PC, is that
helps.

It seems to be really, really cool though. And I see you
incorporated the most recent edits I submitted.

WOW!

Paolo's Shadowland interface is extremely cool. Nearly
instant turn-around on submitted messages! It makes the
submission into a living document, subject to all sorts of
change. Great!!

Sorry for my enthusiasm, but I just got off of it, making a
couple of comments. I really hope that Paolo can continue
to do this for any future NERPS documents, because _I_ think
it is a drastic improvement.

For those that forgot the URL, here it is again:

One thing I'm a bit hesitant about is that it may be somewhat open to
abuse -- it's very easy to make bullshit postings this way that do nothing
but add spam to the article. Still, since it's a tool for this list only,
I hope we can all be sensible about how and what we post, right list? :)

BTW, I feel the whole article (including all added comments) should be
posted on the list once the original author feels enough comments have
been added by other listmembers.

Your're right, Gurth. And there is another thing open: how to add post
content (not comments) keeping in sync the thing. Here's a tip for the
original authors: retrieve the article (for example
http://www.interware.it/shadowrun/nerps/nagttw/europe.txt) and then make
the necessary changes. Then post it to the list, I will substitute the new
version in the archive.

See above. And BTW, I don't want to steal the editor role. This was just a
tool to add comments to _almost finished_ articles. The comment/content
ratio should be around 50/50%.

Bye, Paolo

That was my idea too. Once the original author thinks there are enough
comments, (s)he can take the article, edit out any comments deemed
unsuitable, and post the result to the list. Preferably, they should ask
you to remove the article from your page, so no more comments will be
added to it.

I didn't think you wanted to take over as editor :) This is a good tool
though, but I think we should limit it to articles which the author(s)
think(s) are finished -- that's the way the FASA sourcebooks are supposed
to have been written too (in the game world, I mean).
