TALISMONGER
Are Talismongers fixers?
You still need to ask?
Talismongers buy and sell magical supplies, and a good deal of that often
consists of black-market equipment that requires a license or permit to
own. Since many magicians in the shadows wouldn't dare apply for one, and
figure that making their own is too much time and effort, they buy one
off a Talismonger. How the Talismonger got his hands on it is not a
question that gets asked a lot, except perhaps by Lone Star.
Most talismongers are magically active, and make foci and fetishes to
sell in their shops.

Suggested skills: Equipment Acquisition (Magical), Evaluate (Magical),
Etiquette (Magical), Negotiation, Private Enterprising (Magical)
Suggested contacts' affiliations: magical
Special rules: Talismongers receive a -1 target number modifier to the
Availability of any magical gear.

One slight change there Gurth. Most Talismongers AREN'T magically active. A
lot of them are, but typically they are going to be like Astral Adepts or
something of the sort. Or like the gypsy vision people in the Germany Book
(you know, the ones who can have astral perception, but nothing else?).

You don't need to have magically talent to make those non-magic fetishes,
plus there is a skill that lets mundanes try to figure out what a magic item
is.

My suggestion? Changing the statement to "While many Talismongers are
magically active in some way, there are more mundane Talismongers than there
are Talismongers who can sling the juju. And full-fledged magicians? Very
few waste their talents as Talismongers."

Or something like that anyway...
