surface level. It's just that some recent problems with the
mail, and the reactions that an innocent bug caused, lead me to
think about this...
Take one highly skilled decker who gets crossed by the party.
The scenario idea is to simply pit this guy against the group.
His attacks take the form of subtle sabotage (like, tampering
with messages between the group and their contacts - it'll be
audio-visual messages, but with the right image and sound
editing software, that's no problem.
He starts subtly, like adding a sneer at just the right point in a
message left in someone's mailbox). Things that the person receiving
the message probably wouldn't quote back at you directly, just alter
their trust or friendliness.
So probably the first thing that they notice is that their
friends start seeming a bit colder, or that some people refuse
to see them.
>From there, this decker (let's call him Sleaze), can gradually
start escalating - fake up arrest records to insert into the
Lone Star and City archives, if anyone has fake (or real!)
SINs that Sleaze finds out. Altering their bank accounts
(if they have any), insulting (electronically) local Gangers
using the group's faces; locking them out of their homes;
popping traces of them into security records inside MCT or
Aztec (whatever the worst is that he can manage).
Nasty, eh? (I think it's called digital assault).
I guarantee, emotions would soon be running high, and at the
end, the _satisfaction_ of finally nailing the bastard...
