I suppose I should justify how all this works -- but it's 5 AM, and I'm
feeling creative, not logical :)

(I wrote this over a year ago, and I'm still not in the mood to justify it.
Does anyone see the absolute need for such explanation, or should it be
left as is?)

I think its a great idea. Lets leave just as is. No mechanics or other
uses.... just a nice thought.

Ever heard of something called "Teleflora"? (Not sure if it exists in
North America, but it's international at least in Europe.) You step into
one flower shop and get them to order a flower delivery by another flower
shop, if need be in a different country. (My mother used to own a flower
shop, this is one of the few times it's come in handy :) What you've
written up could be the 2050s equivalent.

Atleast on the east coast of the states, it's called FTD. It's much
better
than driving all the way from Maryland to Georgia to get flowers to my
friend.
(Hmm.. 25 nuyen versus an eleven hour drive... tough call.) Anyway,
I'd say no
technical description is necessary. It's certainly plot-device type
stuff or a
nice extra. Going by the description you already gave, any schmuck with
a deck
can stop the delivery, so if they had null security it wouldn't surprise
me.
(Though if I came across a smarter delivery boy with some skills and
programs
I might start to wonder... )

We have an outfit called Teleflora though they're better known (at
least in my area) for credit-card processing services. A similar
outfit that's been around doing the same sort of thing since before I
can remember is FTD.

Killer idea, Adam. I could have used it in our college campaign, when John
the Dick (a decker with a two meter penis for an icon) would send flowers to
Lone Star's Lt. Grissom to annoy him. He also hired a guy to fly to France
just to give flowers to some random woman. Later, Itchy (a sort of drug
dealer, kinda) pursued similar floral strategems.

1-800-FLOWERS works like this, though I don't know if they do international.
