Sounds like a good idea. I've only been on here for a week so I could use
the info. :)

Once I get the FAQ updated I'll post it to this list (and J.D. will keep
sending it out to new subscribers) so there is no excuse of "I don't know
how to..." anymore :)

Yes, that sounds pretty good. I like MadDog's GIF map ideas too, heck, we can
even get fancy and scan in some AAA maps and start editing them at street level.
(Cut big block out here... insert Renraku Arcology... This road was removed...)
Of course that would take some time.

The way I see the overall project is an information sourcebook mostly for the
Gamemasters. I know personally, my Gamemaster hasn't a clue about how the REAL
underground works, let alone one as complex as the one in Shadowrun. He
thought I was nuts when I told him I could go out to a gun show and buy APDS
rounds for my rifle until a week later, I laid 10 tungsten carbide core,
plastic sabot rounds in front of him at the game table ($20 to prove a point,
neh?). Most people are unaware of how goods get handled. For example, where
do you think a street doc gets cyberware? Lets mix that with a street gang who
is hard for cash and "accquire" previously owned cyberware. Now you get the
picture chummer? The next time your runners have to ambush a weapons transport carrying a
load of H&K parts to Renraku, this book will tell them why they are
doing it, and above all, allow gamemasters to plan some interesting "shadowy
adventures" for their groups.

Mailed to me alone, but I don't see why this hasn't got a place on the list...

You mean "Should we pick an existing gang name if we want to write about a
gang or make one up ourselves?" :) My policy would be do what you want as
long as it doesn't contradict FASA -- that means that if you want to write
about, say, the Ancients, and you make them a third-rate go-gang riding
Dodge Scoots and carrying Walther Palm Pistols, I'd say you're contradicting
FASA :)
Although I do think it's better (read: easier) to make up your own
organization...
