I've been thinking about Game universes in general lately (in
particular, the Dark Conspiracy one which has just been rereleased), and
I have come to the conclusion that anything that increases the amount of
background information about a game universe would be good.

So, what about:

NERPS: Gangs

The guidelines for coming up with gangs and the like is in the
companion, but there are only a few in the SRC and in the Underworld
Sourcebook. You could really go to town with this one and come up with
distinct personalities and modus operadii for the major players in the
gangs and what sort of things they get off on. It is one way of doing
another Edge runners book, without necessarily having the same sort of
thing.

Having a whole pile of them on hand could really help out a GM as that
would be one less thing he would have to do to fill in some of the
blanks in the background. It would be really good to have a pile of
ready made gangs in case you wanted to send the runners to a town they
don't normally run in.

Note that Gangs doesn't necessarily just mean street gangs. It could
also cover Matrix Gangs, Magical Gangs, Smuggling Rings, &c.

Perhaps a better name for it would be

NERPS: Shadowy Organisations

I really love this idea - very very good, and EASY to submit to with
minimal creativity required. :)

That sounds a bit 'forced'. I think NERPS: Gangs is fine...

Cool.

Here's another idea we can kick around as well:

NERPS: Corporations

It would need to have a format similar to the one used in "Blood In the
Boardroom". Basically just a description of the company, what sort of
things they get into and some shadow gossip on each one. I'd like to
have a whole pile of small companys that could be used as the target for
runs, especially when you start working with the BitB timeline.

I reckon you could range from the small Mum & Dad companies through to
the AA level corps. You could also include the stats ala the Corporate
Shadowfiles system (although I don't know if the statistic rules are
going to change with the upcoming "Corporate Download" sourcebook). I
think having a whole stock of small companies would be great for helping
to flesh out the twisted maze of who owns what in the Corporate world,
rather than just hitting the Big 10 all the time.

I realise this one would be probably a bit harder than the Gangs book I
suggested yesterday, but I think the scale is about the same (pretty
much).

cheers

Again, I think this is truly cool-o-rama. This too would be very easy to
contribute to, and would be SO GOOD for GMs. *drool drool*
