I think this would definitely be in the category of something FASA might be treading in
FASA territory.

Depends...FASA has said some, but not alot like echo mirage, and if we
compiled all the available info, and decided what was needed to be added,
then talked to Mike at FASA, I think he would agree, unless they have
something planned for it...

I left it openended to see what people would read into it. My thoughts were
to write a supplement regarding roleplaying from 1996-2040 or so. There
would be a significant reduction in the technology, the power of the
megacorps and magic. The range of roleplaying could go from working for the
government trying to slow the growth of these upstart corps or Native
Americans, to trying to expand the influence of your corp while sabotaging
the others (and the government). In addition, you have a lack of organized
practices of magic, and some major areas of "history" like the food riots,
the night of rage, and the Great Ghost Dance.

Something to think about while we work on our current projects.

Gurth, has anyone written up rules about players getting into the underworld
activities?

I've got a couple of ideas about the matrix that might work well for the
underworld, but I'm not sure yet. If anyone has any ideas please post them.
I'm considereing writing up a group of geeks that hack into systems to get
them to do the work, but have no real power themselves.

Also, has magic been included in this supplement? I don't have any specific
ideas, but it would be a shame if magic were left out of the underworld.

You mean players as fixers, gang members, mob enforcers, and all that? No.

But we (or maybe: I) don't want high-power magic like FASA was so fond of
the past few years. Magic would, IMHO, not be all that common in
street-level biz, because magicians can make big nuyen in the corps,
shadows army, or wherever else they want to. If you feel like doing
something about magic, keep it low-powered and sensible. No Elven
Illuminati, please :)

Shadowrun 2030.

Some ideas on how this would go include:
1) Very little magic
2) Severe racism... opinions have come a long way in that 27 year span and
its still pretty bad in 2057.
3) The crash of '29 still has a cast-iron grip on the world (the virus
wasn't fully purged until late 2031)
4) Euro-Wars are just beginning
5) Cyberdecks are all but nonexistant
6) Aztlan forms
7) NAN nations have just recently formed
8) No cyberware (or at least very experimental)

Think of all the chaos! It'd be a darker, less powerful sort of game: no
cybermonsters running around destroying everything in sight, no mages with
ungodly spellcasting abilities. So what's the concensus? I know there's a
few other projects out there now, but I think this could be a big one.

I appreciate the fact that many of you are coming up with ideas for future
NERPS projects, but now is not the time, sorry. Once we finish a project,
it will be a good idea to take another look at all the ideas that are
flying around now, but not just yet.
