I just got a around to having a read of it.... I like the stuff you've
written, but (a lot of) the crap out of the Explorer should be modified, or
culled. A lot of it is annoying, to say the least, and it restricts you
in what you can do to the place.

Here's a complete critique from my perspective at the moment, the other
list members should feel free to jump in.

2002-2008 Good in principle, but how is energy generation (for
example) going to be acheived without some kind of exploitation? Maybe
the Govt has had to relax a little due to pressure from the Megacorps,
and in order to maintain the economy.

2010: [ANZAC corp] -For one, I don't like the idea of ANZAC corporation....
esp. with a Monash as its head. This one's out of the Explorer. I have a
feeling (memory) that a lot of the Explorer info Re. Australia came from
a SR homepage at Monash University... Pure self promotion and ego

[Race riots]- Calvin and I don't like the idea of Australia being
a mini America.... We'd rather the disturbances were smaller, and didn't
result in the Indigines being turfed out.

2011: [VITAS]- Good.... also keep in mind that first world nations had
access to more of the vaccine.

[UGE]- What kind of metatypes predominated among the ethnic and
indiginous minorities? I take it that Maori's would have tended towards
Orks and Trolls??

2014-2038 All good, no disparaing comments. *grin*

2038: [Merger] Can the merger be put in the first few years after the
Crash?? Preferrably 2032 or so, after the world starts to get itself
back together, and everyone starts to exploit the holes that have opened
in the power structure. (Lots of wars and uncertainty etc., to prompt the
merger.)

2045: [Maori takeover]- How many of them are there? Perhaps they
should get all of South Island, and have a greater representation in the
Parliment. You can't just erase over a century of social development (or
whatever you call it) with one act, no matter how you try. This one came out of the
Explorer, so
it's a bit dodgy. I'd favour leaving the current power structure
semi-intact.

Perhaps there should have been some bad fights between the establishment
(military) and the Maoris... situation still unresolved.

2046: [Maori Ork prime minister]- Can anyone back me up on the theory that
Orks that goblinise at puberty have normal human life-spans? It makes a
big difference to the possibility of an Ork prime minister. Thanks for
using my idea by the way.... I like it (obviously)

2053: [Blue slime] Another Explorer post. Don't care one way or the other,
except that it'd require some explanation w.r.t. game mechanics.

That's all for now. Unfortunately I can't post the stuff we've written
on Australia yet, because it's in the middle of exams, and we haven't had
any time.

There are currently six (MS Word) pages written, and it's still all general
background and history, so there's a lot of info there... I haven't even
been through the last half of our conversations yet, either.

Ciao for now.

Yep. In the book 'Never Trust an Elf' the leader of the underground area
had to watch his own daughter grow old because he had goblinised and had a
normal life span, but his daughter was born an ork, and hence aged a lot
faster.

Ray.

Thanks; I knew I'd read it somewhere, but couldn't remember.... it makes a
big difference for my character as well, because he's a 'natural' ork.

Andrew; If you're out there, please make sure that the NZ PM gobilnised at
puberty or something. It's pretty rare to find a powerful politician of
less than 40 years old, which is the limit of an Ork's normal lifespan.

Thanks for the comments about the life span of an orc.
Oooops :) I forgot that they only life to about 40.
Ok I will put in the bit about the expression at pubaty (sp?).
I put the pieces from the explorer in as a extra but most of them need
to be edited.
The NZ maori are limited in numbers and thus the revolt probally
would be doomed to failure.

Thanks
-Andrew
