I thought that dual-natured critters (and characters too now) perceived
astrally all of the time. They can't just ignore the astral part of their
being and close the astral off. It is like natural thermo-vision. The
aura of people is superimposed on their physical one, just like the heat of
the body. The reason that the dual-nature is such a benefit is that they
can automatically see (and hopefully notice) any projecting mage by the
lack of a physical presence. This allows them to be on their guard and
possibly "kill" the spell in astral combat. (one attack only)
