Subject: [STUFF] Spell: Skin Toughness

Skin Toughness

CLASS: Transforming Manipulation
TYP: Physical
RANGE: LOS
TARGET: 6
DRAIN : F/2+2 M
DURATION: Sustained

Skin Tougness is a spell similar to a personal barrier. It`s differrence
is that in spite of a normal barrier it enhance the damage absorption ability
of the skin. It will not interfere with body funtions in any way, like feel,
breath, the possibility to go to a private place and such.
It let you get scratched, wounded, poisoned etc. Because it`s not a barrier,
it hinders only the damage to go through the skin and so counting as soft
armor.
For every two casting successes the spell targets gains 1 point of ballistic
and impact armor, which is cumulative with worn physical armor.

Two or three main points;

1. This is basically a personal physical barrier, with a few tweaks
which may or may not have an impact in your personal campaign world. As
such I'm not sure about the drain codes (don't have the reference material).

2. Because this is essentially a barrier spell, it should be able to be
affected by spells such as Shattershield, etc.

3. Because the spell takes effect below the level of the armor, you may
wish to impose special armor degradation penalties. I'd suggest that if
the PC could't have reduced the damage below Mod. _before_ the barrier was
counted, his armour gets degraded (as per rules).... The same deal
should apply for orthoskin.

I designed ths spell mainly because I dislike the personal barriers, it
gives you to much trouble IMO.
For the drain, you could be right S maybe, but I usualy design spells more
like the old shadowrun, feels it right or not.
