Okay, you asked for it... :)
1) The Neo-Anarchists' Guide To The World (NAGTTW) is the current NERPS
project, because most of the ideas have gone into this direction. We may
start up another project before this one is finished, but don't hold your
breath just yet.
2) Off-limits material: this is split into countries and cities; for
example, North America still has lots of open areas, because only th major
cities have really been covered by FASA.
Countries (each has a sourcebook devoted to it):
Caribean League
California Free State (disregard Los Angeles in NAGEE 1)
Germany
Ireland (Tir na nOg)
United Kindgom
Tir Tairngire
Cities (ditto, except as noted):
Chambana, Illinois (see NAGEE 4)
Chicago (Bug City)
Dayton, Ohio (see NAGEE 6)
Denver (actually, the whole of the Front Range Free Zone)
Las Vegas (see NAN 1, NAGEE 1&5)
New York City (more specifically, Manhattan; see NAGNA, disregard
NAGEE 2)
North Bay (near Detroit, UCAS; see NAGEE 2)
Pueblo (the city, not the Pueblo Corporate Council; see NAGEE 4)
Quebec City (see NAGNA)
Seattle
Borderline Cases (these have been covered somewhat vaguely by FASA or
someone else I know of, and so we can write articles about them as long
as they don't contradict published material):
Amazonia
Azania (South America)
CAS
China & Hong Kong
Colombia (the South American country, see NAGEE 6)
Japan
Native American Nations (all of them)
Quebec
Salt Lake City (see NAN 1)
Tibet
UCAS
This seems to be a fairly comprehensive list, but if someone has something
to add to it, please do.
3) It's best if articles get written by people actually from the area. If
those are unavailable, the next best choice is someone who has some
actual experience with the place (like having lived there for some time,
or even having been on holiday there once). Someone without any
first-hand experience of the place would come last.
I encourage everyone who wants to write something, to pick a city or a
country of his or her choice, and then refer to point 4.
4) For examples of the way to write, refer to FASA books like NAN 1 & 2,
California Free State, Seattle Sourcebook, and so on. In short, write
from a shadowrunner's perspective, write a tourist guide with additions
made by shadowrunners, or both.
The following points should preferably be addressed at the least:
* Basic statistics (population, population density, corporate
affiliation, poverty levels, etc.)
* History (of the area in the 21st century)
* Basic tourist information (when to go, where to go, how to get there,
currency, health care, and so on)
* Basic shadowrunner information (who pays, where are they, how to
find them, who to avoid and why, how to get into the place illegally)
* Relative prices for goods (compared to Seattle levels) and possibly
also legal info (basic laws and punishments for violating them)
* Places of interest (both for tourists and runners)
* Other stuff that's necessary to know
If you are planning on doing an entire country, it's best if you do all
the above for both the whole country and at least one major city (the
capital, most likely).
If you can, draw a map of the country or city. For countries, I think a
map is almost essential, for cities a bit less so. This can be done
either on a computer, or by hand; if by hand, you'll want to have access
to a scanner (contact me privately <gurth@******.nl> if no scanner is
available to you, but you want to include a hand-drawn map anyway.
Drawing maps can be pretty simple, just find an atlas, place a paper over
the country of choice, and copy the outline and major areas, then fill in
the details.
5) Announce your intention to write about your choice on the list, so
everyone knows who will do what. I'll keep track of this, so if there are
any questions, address them to the list or to me.

Underworld was decided upon about a year ago, not long after I took over
as editor. Now I want to finish another book, to set a record :) (Rob has
done two, J.D. is still editing his first, I've done 1 1/2 now...)
