Meta-Abilities
H-01
--------
As a psi becomes more skilled through Mastery, they then gain the ability
to learn Meta-Psionics, or skills that effect the inter-relation of
psionics with itself and with magic. Meta-Abilites control the very
fabric of psionics and are never to be taken lightly.
The descriptions of the abilities below have several components:
NAME: This is the common name for the ability (with other street names
listed as well)
KARMA: This is the number of points of karma required to get this
ability. This cost IS NOT offset by membership in a group,
studying with a master, or by ordeals.
STUDY: This is the base time required to learn the ability. This time
may be listed as days, weeks, or months. This time can be
decreased by a Psionic Theory (meta-psionics) success test with
the target of 8 minus your mastery level (with a minimum of 3).
Divide the total time by the number of successes. Note, however,
that the day/week/month part DOES NOT change, no matter the number
of successes.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Charles K. Rockwing, a Level 4 Master with a Psionic Theory skill
of 8, is learning an ability with a base time of 2 months. He
rolls eight dice vs. a target of four, getting 5 successes.
Dividing his successes into the two months, he gets a result of .4
months, but the time for learning this ability is measured in
months, so it cannot fall below 1 month.
PREREQUISITES:
All meta-abilities have prerequisites. This can be a minimum
level of mastery, minimum level of dicipline, other meta-abilities
that must be known, or a combination of the three. If a psi wants
to learn a meta-ability and does not have these minimums, they
will have to study to get those before they can learn this
meta-ability.
