I feel you could best remove the references to real-world calibers
entirely, and simply class them as "Heavy pistol," "SMG,"
"Assault rifle,"
or whatever -- IOW assume ammo is interchangable, like SR does for its
2050s weapons.

However, here it would be a good idea to let it stand so people can
convert their favorite weapons.
