|the biggest problem actually lies with game balance; if you include
|them, your characters can see everything (if a bit fuzzily) and no-one
|can hide from them. You don't have the disadvantage of the goggle set to
|contend with either. The only way to turn 'em off is to put out the guys
|eyes (or whatever the equivalent sensory organ is)
But they're so easy to jam if you're prepared for it. Set
up a simple emitter (grenade sized) to listen for
ultrasonic noise, which if it hears it duplicates on a
continuous broadcast.
And, if you're using any active sonar (ultrasonic or
otherwise) and someone is listening for it, you just became
a target.
