Every other type of eye-mod, with the exception of Rangefinder uses
passive detection methods to get the info about what you see. This
includes Low Light and Thermo
I have no problem with the detector being built into the cybereyes, with a
probably 0.2 essence cost. It's the Ultrasound emitter I balk at. It's
approximately the size of a grenade launcher (-2 concealability). As
stated in Shadow Beat, acoustical proceses do not miniturise well.... So,
unless you want one to take up your complete cyberarm, then there's no
way to make a cyber ultrasound emitter.
Well, actually there probably is a way, but I don't want to consider the
possibilities. (ie, I *know* Bats use sonar to navigate...)
With no emitter all the ultrasound detector really is, is a pair of
cyberears with high frequency mods that is hooked up to your visual field
for some reason.
