A thing to keep in mind: there is *no* real nature left in western Europe.
Sure, there are forests and stuff, but those have either been planted, or
allowed to grow after the original ones were almost completely gone.
Around the 13th century or so, you'd have had major trouble finding a
10-meter tall tree.
