I write my own decker comments as well, for two reasons:
1) Sometimes, the "original text" would never in a milion years describe
some of the things that need describing. For example, the Seattle
Sourcebook is supposedly a travel guide. No travel guide would ever talk
about who the oyabun of the local Yakuza is.
2) Comments allow to present many possible explainations for an event, none
of which may be true. This is a valuable tool in building campaigns, and it
also gives other GMs a lot of latitude in how they use your writing.
