Well. I think it bears mentioning that the CIA (and I would imagine
every other agency) employs far more eggheads than they do Bond types.
This is because they need to be able to analyze any information they
get ten ways from Sunday, and let's face it:if you've spent your
career learning to sneak around and kill people, you won't know any
more than about a tenth of what everything you find means. There
should definitely be a mention in any intel book that most of the
intel community spends their days reading newspapers, books, looking
at satellite maps, and in some cases doing various types of scientific
analysis.
