Ok, I've listened to some of the ideas tossed around, and I think I have
a solution that might work:

NERPS: Delete everything prior to the current project, as the old
one is finished and done with

SHADOWTK: Nothing is deleted. All logs are kept online. Possibly
replace older logs with the edited version, which will save
about 35 to 40 percent without compressing. I have to look
into how to replace files first.

PLOT-D: Delete everything older than three months. Face it,
anything discussed three months ago is old news. Newbies
don't need access to it.

SHADOWRN: Delete everything older than six months. Things
discussed that long ago aren't going to be looked up or
consulted except in very rare circumstances.

-----------------

Please take a look at this and let me know. If that works, I'll notify
the Lords of Hearn. I will recommend that they wait until March 1st
before removing the old files, so that anyone that wants can get them.
(As a side note, I personally keep personal archives of everything on
tape.)

Let me know.

That actually sounds pretty good... I wasn't aware that there were other logs
available (hey, I am still fairly new here) but I don't think those other logs
are that important. Shadowtk, OTOH, shouldn't have the old logs deleted...
that way new folks (like myself) can get access to the old stories and see
what all the hullabaloo about MONICA is (and I understand, believe me, I do).
The thing is, I prefer the edited versions ANYHOW. It flows a little bit more
easily... don't have to work through headers and system messages and so
forth... you know what I mean?

Anyway... I am working on getting a hard copy collection of the logs... I have
access to a free, unlimited printer that prints four pages to a sheet... it
really saves the space and is still legible... if a 'touch wee' (heh heh)... I
keep them in three ring binders, and they still take up space... I'm halfway
filled my second binder and I'm only up to last April or so... it's gonna be a
project... when my parents see it, I know what they'll say... "Why do you hang
onto this crap?"

And of course, I'll reply... "Dad, it's not crap, it's SHADOWTALK!"

Heh heh...
