Since the effective death of SIR (all it's physical holdings and computer
records are lost, plus Renraku has no further use for it as a black ops
vehicle because someone knows that it is one, so they're cutting it loose),
all of those who have shares therein lose their money (sorry). The
corporate corp will be investigating/deliberating to decide who has to pay
who what in terms of compensation, but these things take time, so there
might be a decision in 6 months. The court officials will be hiring offices
and asking questions in Seattle for a week or two starting about now,
starting with Serenity, then moving on to assorted SIR & SOD employees,
then anyone else who knows anything (police, fire services, gangs suspected
to have been involved, and to a limited extent, whoever wanders in off the
street).

How bad, too sad. As Jeffrey Archer personally told me, never invest
what you can't afford to lose...

If SIR is properly wound up then there will be some lively
investigation: if not, just routine checking, into whoever attacked it
so thoroughly.

I doubt either will achieve much, unless you particularly want them to.

Renraku wouldn't want to push the court to investigate too much, and SK
would be trying to shut the investigation down, so the corpcourt's
investigation should be fairly low key. The police investigation would
probably fizzle out too, with the barrier of extraterritoriality preventing
them from getting to any witnesses. Of course this will damage the public's
opinion of both Renraku and SK, but waddya gonna do. There'll be reprimands
and payment orders handed down by the corp in while (probably decemberish,
the shareholders might get some compensation too, though it seems unlikely
that the little guy/gal will get his/her full investment back), but other
than that, you're right, the investigations won't be achieving much.

You do it again in a later post. I'll retcon that from my mind, since I
don't think GJK is quite THAT bad.

Ohio is near Indiana, in the Midwest (and in 2059 deep in the heart of the
UCAS). _Oregon_ is between California and Washington on the Pacific coast
and home to Crater Lake (and in 2059, Tir Tairgire).

Hehe. Sorry, I had Ohio on my mind for some reason. The really stupid
part of it is that there's a map of Washington state sitting next to me
on top of my scanner - with Oregon in great big letters underneath. :)

Oh well, put it down to temporary insanity or something.

Oh, BTW, GKJ /might/ be that stupid - I'm not sure. :)
