A major part of Talk is the interaction, and you just can't get the whole
feeling by just read. The best example of this was how mad I got when Brian
posted the REALLY insulting thing to Spirit that sent CRUSH on a rampage - thats
what Talk is for - a Roleplaying session with no dice and a writing of stories
that make me write them (like Behemoth)\
I agree with Ed in the idea that you won't be abusive with Clu or Sprite.
On what they will be - they right now seem to be somewhat of a KnowBot with
vestigil emotions that grow bigger. Why would they get emotion? probably just
from being around Monica and learing - remember, she has a lot of stray coding
from destroyed entities like Splut, RUFUS and UPLOAD.
In the emotion and learning department is where CLU and Sprite would diverge
from the likes of Talky. Talky can't really laern unless in involves bread
products, its like trying to teach a cat to like sweats - they can't taste them,
therefore they aren't interested. Talky has emotion, but it involves toast. The
only time any of this changed was when Dante screwed with his code making him
more dangerous, but he was still not able to reallt LEARN anything.
You will still have to be careful on how you portray them, especially in not
making them over powerful. Overly powerful characters tend to disrupt too much
of what goes on and take away more than they add.
Remember, people on the list never complain if they love the story. Focusing on
the moral questions is a good idea, it gets away from the I"M AN AI, HEAR ME
ROAR type of thing.
