There have been things that hinted at the possibility that Valentine was alive
during WW2, but I have not stated anything specific for the express reason that
I don't want to create problems, and that it would be against Valentine's
character to do so. The ways that I did things last time I hinted at his
history showed that he could have just as easily been a soldier in the Euro
Wars as WW2.

And as I don't want to get into the spike-baby-from-hell argument again any
more than anyone else, I'll refrain, intentionally, from doing anything more
than hint. Besides, I think that there is enough liberty here on the list to
allow for the possibility, but I'
....I've seen enough arguments to know that it's probably best if it only
remained a question, subtle and carefully done.
