Well ? Has it happened already ? Has Solarial been taken, or am I free to
respond to Solarial's mail ? Buzz you got to clue me in here. Your posts
haven't really tipped me off one way or the other - or are you just getting
ready to post a mega-message about IT ????

I hate to do this, but . . .

I no longer have enough free time to keep track of these lists,
so I'm unsubbing from them. <Plot-D, Shadowtk, Shadowrn> I will
continue to keep NERPS.

Anyway, Robert, could you remove Flicker and Candace Sweetwater
from the Cast List? Thanks . . .

Sorry, it *has* been fun, but I can't spend the time on-line to
keep up anymore. ;-( See y'all later,

Ack. I'm leaving too. Looks like there will once again be one token
female. Where'd she go, anyway?

Greetings everyone! I am more or less back on the internet. After
brief considerations, I have resubscribed to plot-d. My
resubscription to shadowtk depends on how much free time I have to
pursue my typical stories. *grin*

So what's up, and what did I miss?

Mike

P.S. Hey Doctor Doom, could you drop me a quick line (your address
got misplaced during my relocation)? I realize that you are losing
access soon, so basically just wanted to send some info to ya.

My address (just to make sure for everyone) is:
michael.goldberg@*******.com

PLEASE DO NOT send e-mail to my old account. It is a pain to deal
with at the moment.

Thanks.

Later.

Wow! Looks like I have stirred up some life in the list.

First a few clarifications. DragonEyes was not the source of my
question, and Nightfox you are wrong about Scarface. Think back on
how he got scarred. He was on an astral quest fighting Nightmare.

Secondly, I will have to come up with a different idea than the one I
had planned. At least until there is some decision as to Hermetics
going toxic. I was under the impression that it was possible. I only
remember considering it while it was still first ed. As I remember
thinking, it was Hermetics that COULD NOT be come insect, but nothing
was stopping them from becoming Toxic. Heck, let's face it, there are
Toxic Earth and Toxic Water Elementals. (I wonder who summons them
though...)

You see, I truly don't have an answer. I thought about the question
in reference to Scarface, since he is truly bitter about life. But
Toxic doesn't quite fit him so I will pass. . . (it would have been
nice to use a developed character to do this with though...)

It still leaves the door open for actually creating a character and
have him go the way of the toxic. Since it hasn't be done before, I
think I might actually like the challenge of this.

So this sparks more questions from me:
1) What the hell should I do with Scarface?
2) We appear to have established that having a mage of some sort going
toxic would be a new thread that hasn't been trodden into the ground.
Are there any particular elements I should explore in developing this?
Are there any particular totems I should edge toward if I am going to
take a shaman toward this doom.... ?

Actually hold on a sec... I want to check something....

Okay a few things, that I noticed flipping through my gaming stuff.
One, it is toxic spirits not elementals. Followed by "Many-Names"
comments it would imply they are nature's spirits. If a hermetic was
seriously followed the same paths that would bring about a toxic
shaman, the grimore seemed to imply that it would just be one fucking
cruel mage who had decided that humanity was a bane to all. He would
in theory, be a worse person than HAMMER, Ganz, and Nightmare all
rolled up into one. Scary thought.

I will go with the limited rules on this one, and not make a hermetic
mage toxic. It is an interesting thought, but I don't think I care to
explore it. I am still willing to corrupt a shaman. I can feel the
glimmer of an idea coming on. Should make life interesting for you
all.

Let's see. Oh yes, I remember what sparked the thought of hermetic
mage and toxics. It was one of the N.A.N. adventures that was
released during 1st ed. I looked at the adventure, and I guess it was
speculation about why only shamans were stated as toxic or insect.

Lastly, in this message, I want to apologize for not responding
sooner. The modems have been screwed up and I don't have immediate
access to the account during the work day.

Later,
Mike

P.S. More to come soon....

Oh well - heck - it was worth a shot

its a miss nomer really. Like you mention later Toxic Earth Spirits are nature
spirits of some sort

true - we have had toxic villians - though it has been a long time.
but never a hero go toxic.

Though I have often wondered if Claw was headed in that direction - he's close,
but he doesn't have a hatred of humanity or lack of compassion. He's just a
vigilante.

NO idea

yes - but he wouldn't get the magical benifits. For some reason on Shamans gain
more power through toxic magic, I believe it has to do with the emotional
content and the striking back against humanity which in its own way is a
corruption of nature which nature helps in.

yes - I just got NAN 1 a few weeks ago

Well, Alex has just forked over some of the BTL stuff to a certain research
group within Fuchi for thorough analysis. What do you think they should be
able to find out?

The works, probably: a corporate research group should have no trouble
picking this up.
