Subject: WHAT's Run
Date: Wed, 24 Aug 1994 16:10:00 BST
To all those who are going to Polish for the Briefing by WHAT.

The Target is a small Corp called La-lite, french based, which mainly does
construction works for other firms and corps. They are new to Seattle (about
10 months) but have pulled in a remarkable number of contracts.

The Job involves breaking in to the main supply depot and doing the following :

-Installing a piece of hardware in to the main mixing machine.
-Editting the security monitors and adding fake footage (already supplied by
Mr J.)
-Damage existing stock ( explosives supplied)

WHAT would also prefer no-one (us or them) to get hurt, since it isn't
necessary. However, he advises to be prepared, since he knows that a strike team
is in the area. (That strike team just wiped out half of WHAT's Team).

The job now pays 10,000 a piece.

Please post me if your characters are up for this, with a brief desciption of
them and what they do.
The run takes place Friday.

Slash is definately up to this.

Slash: 1.2m tall, about 50kg, brown hair, blood red cybereyes(with lenses for
ID protection), wears clothing appropriate to the run. Carries non-lethal
rounds in his Pred2 and a variety of drugs for his Squirt. He will be wearing
gloves, both to cover a scar, leave no fingerprints, and keep himself from
getting drugged by a chem spill(unlikely, but possible). Knows subduing
unarmed combat only, but is very good at it. Will have enough non-lethal
rounds for other runners in case they "forgot" thiers. Is an expert in
physical, no Matrix support penetrations. Also good at extractions. Will
have his trusty set of lockpicks, maglock passkeys, and microtronics toolkit
on him.

Won't kill except for revenge or unless a close personal friend or family
member is in trouble(WHAT is nearing the 'personal friend' stage in Slash's
eyes). For those occasions, should one occur, Slash will use API(Armor-
Peircing Incendiary) ammo in his Pred2 and/or Cyanide in his Squirt.

Feel free to put him into a hospital if you feel it helps the plotline. That
would likely get my other characters drawn in too.

Jasmine is in.

She is roughly 5'1'' tall (what is that in meters? I don't have my
calculator. she has thick blond hair that hangs just below her knees. It's
usually in a tight braid which makes it appear to be a little shorter.
Weight-wise, she is roughly 105 pounds and very athletic. She wears a tight
black and green body suit which she covers with a leather duster. The duster
is almost only for carrying items as she has no pockets worth mentioning.

Inisde the coat are 4 large pockets and two zippered small ones. The large
pockets contain a few spell focuses, tranq patches, an herb pouch or two, a
lighter, an Ares Predator II (no smartgun-link...she doesn't have any
cyberware, so she didn't really need it when she bought the gun.) The small
pockets carry a few extra rounds of ammo, but she uses her gun so rarely she
sometimes forgets to bring extra.

She will not kill, unless the target is unnatural and evil. (Note: This
makes her a prime character for "bug" hunts.)

As a Snake Shaman, she is a healer, but her size and agility make her a great
part of an infiltration team. She's not afraid to crawl around in a few air
vents or other tight places. In fact, she rather enjoys it. Also, her size
makes it easy to slip in unnoticed in most situations.

As I said, Silence is in. Seems like her kind of a job.

Silence:
Physical Adept. Human, female, negro. Doesn't talk much.
Never laughs. Incapable of being offended. Ebony skin,
dark shock of fluffy, medium-length rasta hair. Yellow eyes. Wears
worn black, gray and dark brown rags wrapped around a lean body.

As of what she can do: pretty much the basic stuff: Stealth 10, Unarmed
Combat 9, Firearms 5, Electronics (B/R) 6, plus riff raff. Fast.

Any mages in the group? Silence's aura could be of some concern to some
characters.

Kills for food or self-defense. Visibly enjoys a good hunt.
Carries a gym bag with assorted electromechanical tools and an
autoshotgun (Enfield). Also carries a heavy pistol (forgot which
one). Both weapons are initially carrying non-lethal ammo.
Stealth and unarmed combat exceptional.

Silence will be hard to put in a hospital, even for plot reasons.

Brad, is Jasmine a full Shaman with Astral Perception?

As you already know, Sakamura is doing a little side-track on the run for
Mr. J. I need to know whether Sakamura is completely separate from the
site run or if he's doing his job in addition to the run. He also needs
to do this separate part alone.

Aardvark will be there.

He's a young physical adept, about 1.68m and 65kg. He as some cyber
and the odd physad sense. He'll wear black leather clothes, and a
blue band around his head (is this correct english?). He has
short black hair. He's a Kung-Fu expert, and will carry an Ares Viper
along with his Narcoject pistol.
He's also nuts, brabbling about citrus fruit, and throwing
smoke bombs when you least expect it. Apart from this, he's quite stealthy.

During the run, he'll probably blow things up, and keep an eye out
for the enemy strike team, with a little help from his enhanced senses
(and if Jasmine scouts the astral, we might not be surprised :-)).

BTW, I'll only have net acces friday mornig (Dutch time!!), and
I won't be on the net saturday, but I'll catch up sunday.`

Greetings, Menno.

Sakamura will be along for the run. He is about 5'7" and 150 pounds. He
is a physical adept who specializes in assassinations and other stealth jobs.
He is also a member of the Yakuza under Homatsu Jinjiro. The reason his
fees are so reasonable is that he does not want to allow himself to
become independent and stray from the yakuza.

This is how the La-lite run is going to start off.

WHAT will supply the runners with gel and stun rounds and ask they be
used ( I assume that some may keep a couple more lethal clips about their
person, just in case. :-))Also comm-links, and a strange looking harness.

The actual run takes place on Friday evening. A convoy of six Ares Roadmasters
will be entering the site at 21:15. Lone Star is escorting the convoy and is
giving them a straight run through to the site. WHAT has a copy of the route.
The vehicles have high ground clearance and have to slow down 5mph at a
bottle neck on 5th street. At that time the team slip from the shadows and
hooks themselves on the underside of the trucks (well, it's fun, honest) using
the harnesses. After a bumpy 10 minute ride the trucks enter the site and
drive into the main factory building. The team then moves to it's assigned
tasks.

For the three different tasks, WHAT divides the team up:
WHAT, Slash and Jasmine to break into the sec centre and install the software
package.(Sec)

Facesmasher, Sakamura and Aardvark to destroy the stores and supplies. (w1, w2)

Silence to install the card in to the machine. (MF)

Slash will suggest going in underground. There has to be a sewer connection
somewhere, so they might be able to pull it off that way. We can also do an
air drop(how about the lovely hang-gliders from FoF?), or even cut our
way through the fence, although that might not be a good idea. If the
security building is more or less abutting the fence in that corner, then
there is an option of climbing the wall and cutting through a window or
going down through the roof. It is unlikely that the floodlights cover the
roofs too, although that doesn't mean that there aren't guards.

Also, something like ruthenium would be nice. This is going on the
assumption that we aren't going to try and talk our way through the main
gate, nor are we going to go in noisely and drug every guard we see.

Um. After reading through the plan of attack and thinking about it for
a moment, how much ground clearance does a Citymaster have? Enough for
a VERY large troll to hang by a harness under? If the Citymaster hits
a bump, or decides to go over anything, they are all toast, anyway...

I agree with slash on some points. OOC I have a few minor qualms about
hitchin a ride under a citymaster---we should leave that kinda stuff up
to Harrison Ford. I just worry that it could become problematical...
There _must_ be alternate routes...My character makes his living by being
quiet...(stealth of 9)...

To respond on Brad's posting:

When the drek starts, Aardvark will start throwing smoke bombs
(if you're smart, bring thermographic sight with you), and start
taking people down with his Narcoject. He'll not leave without
the infiltration team, unless forced to.
