I want to talk about a couple fo things I am planning for the near future
on the operation for ShadowTalk. Many of these are being made possible
by the soon-arriving vorlon machine.

-------------------------------

Automated Log/Cast distributions:
I will be putting Majordomo online on vorlon, and both CAST and
LOG distributions will be set up so that people can automatically
subscribe and unsubscribe themselves from these distributions.

While it will work like a mailing list, it will be set up so only
one person can post to it (guess who that is) and the posting will
be automated by cron (at least for the cast listing)

Automated Mail-server for retrieving the cast listing
Need a cast listing? Just ask and vorlon will provide.

Specific address for submitting characters (probably cast@******...)

2nd Assistant Fearless Leader for ShadowTalk

After talking with Doom, we've agreed that we are in need of a 3rd person
to administrate ShadowTalk. While Doom and I deal with specific
technical aspects of the list, we need someone to stand guardian over
some other aspects of the ShadowTalk list. These include:

-- Watch for improper formats and inform the violators of their
errors. If the violators continue being dweebs, nuke em.
-- Keep an eye out for munchkinious plots, characters or other
things and bring them to the attention of PLOT-D and the
munchkinious author.
-- Basically, keep an eye on the STORY. Your job wouldn't be to
tell people what to write, but just to try to reign in some of
the munchkinious insanity that has come around lately.
-- _May_ also become the person in charge of the cast listing.
This person will be given an account on Vorlon on which to work
on the cast listing. This is not a definate, just a possibility.

Requirements
-- Must have been on Shadowtalk for at least six months.
-- Must have guaranteed net access for no less than the next
tweleve months (barring death, dismemberment, or going
nuts). This means if you are going home for the summer, you
are not qualified. Short vacations (like over Xmas) do not
count.
-- Cannot be an anal prick.
-- Knowledge of Unix (as vorlon is a unix machine)
-- Must be a communicative person that will work with people
who are having problems instead of nuking them outright
-- Must be someone who logs in and can deal with stuff no less
than an average of one time per day.

If you are interested in the position, please send me a brief description
of yourself (sort of an informal resume) along with a brief writeup of
what you envision for the future of ShadowTalk. Doom and I will confer
with each other until we reach a mutual decision.

The deadline to get your "application" in will be June 10. A decision
will be made by the 20th or so.
