I'm very distressed to see the extremely low number of posts to the Tk
list, while the number of users on the net and the number of people
playing Shadowrun are both increasing. Does *anyone* have any ideas
to help turn the lists around and get more interest going again? This
list has been a part of my life for a very long time, and I'd hate to see
it die from lack of interest.

I know that we're just ending the summer, and that summer is a
traditionally slow time with all of the college folks away from school,
but the past couple of months have been much slower than "normal". I
yearn for the days of 20+ posts per day. :-)

Please respond to the Plot-D <plotd@*********.com> list if you have any
suggestions or ideas. Help in publicising the list in appropriate places
would be appreciated as well (ie: Shadowrun web forums, appropriate Usenet
groups, etc).

Thanks,
-Mark

I can help with the latter, Mark. I frequent the Shadowrun Writer's Forum,
run by Shadorat (the nice lady who also runs Winterhawk's Virtual Magespace
and a writing contest or two each year). We might be able to get some people
there.

Excellent idea. I think that the first thing that we need to do is
make a concerted effort to get a plot or two going with regular posts, so
that if we create an influx of new people like we hope, they won't be
greeted with silence when they subscribe. I've got a few ideas for things
that I want to work on, and there are several ongoing plots that I know of
that have seemed to fallen off the face of the earth. Any chance the
folks responsible for them could try and get them rolling again?

Pretty please? :-)

*lol*

I haven't got anything going of my own, although I'm involved in James' big
plot - as soon as he gets that moving, I'll be in again. I'm afraid I don't
have the time to run a plot of my own atm, but if anyone wants to start one,
let me know - I've got plenty of characters to contribute.

Bloody....

Speaking of falling of earth faces...I stuffed what I was writing for
that somewhere since James when AWOL, and I can't seem to find it. But
I'd rather not re-write the post if the plotline is dead in the water.

As for my own plotlines, most are currently on hold while life, the
universe, and everything beckons my attention. Okay, the mundane
reality is that work, at the moment, bites, but I do have a few things
in the air that I'm wanting to start into motion in the months ahead.
Time will tell.

New faces are a good thing.

"Newbies" on the other hand, with what that entails in regards to
growing pains and lack of (n)etiquette, I think we can hope to live
without.

Such is life, however. At least now the Newcomers Guide is once again
available to get people headed in the right direction, right Mr. Avenger
sir?

I think the problem is that there is a relatively large amount
of posts from a relatively small amount of posters, and when they
take a break (like wot I'm having to for a few weeks due to pressure
of RL work and wedding arrangements <g> ) then the list goes
very quiet....

But, yes, how to attract more posters? Hmmmm....
