Okay folks, the list outage this time was _REALLY_ out of my
hands. As many of you know, the East Coast of the United States
was experiencing "The Blizzard of '96" .. Our offices just happen
to be in Southeastern Virginia, and while we only got a few inches
of snow here, it was enough to knock out power for most of the
downtown Norfolk area. (The street in front of my office looks
like Beirut. Some of the power lines beneath the street exploded,
and sent manhole covers and chunks of pavement sailing..)

Sorry for the downtime, and everything should be flowing smoothly
again..

Guess what, we here in the area around State College,PA./PSU got 18 inches
and our power was fine...<evil chuckle> It must be the fact the south never
gets snow...:)

The lists experienced an outage recently, as I'm sure some of
you noticed. Everything should be back up and running now..

We recently made some major changes to one of our nameservers,
and with all of the hubbub about that going on, I didn't even
notice that the machine that houses the lists had crashed.
Please let me know if you notice any further weirdness with
the lists over the next few days.. Thanks,

Lost forever, unfortunately. If it didn't get to you before
the ADMIN message, it's most likely been lost.

I send this to plotd because I can't seem to connect to mark@******.net.
Maybe I can getthrough to here though, if you're reading this, obviously I
can.

Mark, to my mention of bounciness, you said:

> Can you send me a copy of the bounce message that you got?

Then, in a more public type message:

> The lists experienced an outage recently, as I'm sure some of
> you noticed. Everything should be back up and running now..

Does this mean you no longer need the copy of the bounced message? If so,
good, because I seem to have mislayed it. If not, sorry :(

Thank Gawd for Turnpike and its backups :) Apologies for (a) the clump
of messages, (b) any repeats, (c) any becoming out-of-date or redundant.

The machine that runs listproc.itribe.net will be down for
several hours today due to an operating system upgrade.
_PLEASE_ do not deluge me with email about the outage, and
I'll send another message once that upgrade is complete and
the machine is back online.
