Uh, they don't seem like AIs to me.

AI's have to be more than capable. thye have to be able to learn,
reason, deduce. They have to have some kint of ethical guide (good
ethics or bad ethics). They also have to have a sense of self-awareness
and their overall place within their life. (ie, I think, therefore I am)

That's what I term it means to to be an AI. Or at least to be intelligent.

Now, RUFUS and MONICA were obviously AIs. Talky is kinda borderline,
although he seems more like a trained monkey who can talk. He's never
shown any recognition of life outside of bread products.

Thats why I came up with the artificial lacking in intelligence Toaster.

Talky is like an AI in that he somewhat an expert system wil a definate goal
of making toast.

Basically though Rob - it was a joke.

I would have to agree with Rob on this one. Right now I can talk to my
computer and it can talk back, but it's still dumber than my cat. And
those cool setups they have where computers make up poetry or carry on
conversations often use tricks and patterns--they aren't really sentient.

Some runners never show any recognition of life outside of guns :)
Or Vampires, for that matter. )
