Stormfalcon, you need to take a chill pill. Here are some answers to your
questions:

Encryption:

I was refering to how encrypted messages are written, not to who reads them. I
alluded to the FAQ. Rob responded that nobody follow, or even reads it seems,
the instructions in the FAQ. I responded that nobody did that because nobody
(most notable Rob) did not enforce the huge banner at the top of the FAQ that
says post correctly or be deleted from the list.

Characters on the List:

>> God, I should have said nothing at all apparently. Jerricho/Stormy was
>>exotic LONG before this list was even running. He is and has always been
>>my only Shadowrun character. I happened to be in an exotic mood FOUR YEARS
>>AGO! Alright with you, O Lord and Master?

The comment that soliticated this response was not directed to anyone in
particular. It was to everybody. An no, it's not alright with me, but don't
let me tell you what characters you can or can't run. That is for all of the
list to decide.

Spikebabies:

While I can't qoute you a definition from some SR product that sayes exactally
what a spikebaby is it is my opinion that the term spikebaby refers to Elves and
Dwarf who underwhen UGE (Unexplained Genetic Expression) in 2011. Before UGE
there was not enough mana in the world to allow the expression of metahuman
genotypes. Those who possessed the genetic codes before 2011 appeared and where
in every way human. The exceptions being Fourth World Elves of extreme power
(Harilquin, Ehran) who were able to sustain their lives through out the low mana
Fourth Worlds through means we cannot even imagine.

As for Jerricho being an elf since the day he was born. It would not be
possible regradless of the relative mana area he was born. To sustain his elven
identity he would have had to stay in an extremely high mana (for the Fourth
World that is) area for his entire life.

As for my claim that all FASA spikebabies lived until the Awakening on their
own merits, the only one I know of is Dodger, who is eighty I believe. That
would have made him around 40 at the time of the Awakening.

My Opinions:

I never apologize for my opinions. They are just that, opinions. More
importantly they are MINE. You don't have to agree with what I say. And no,
I don't have any characters that fall very far from the SR rules.

In parting:

Relax. Use your character. Enjoy your character. And in the future, don't
ask for comments or opinions if you don't what to hear ones that don't agree
with you point of view. And remember that insulting those who argue against
you doesn't forward your argument; it makes you look like Ross Perot.

Well, Al didn't look a whole lot better in that respect either. Ross
came across as a person with a short temper about inturruptions and Al
was just Al, (snooooorrrrrreeeeee).

End of political commentary....

Bravissimo, signore. You have interpreted a rule that ISN'T in the rules.
I knew you could do it, Nightstalker.

First, I dislike "chill pills" [Ye Gods, another old phrase dragged up.
This is not to you in particular, Jason, I merely find it amusing.] as
I so enjoy arguing. Why else would I toss out such flamebait?

/Re: Encryption

OK, oops, made a boo-boo. Now yours and Roberto's posts make a bit
more sense.

/Re: Characters on the List

I can't help it. I'm defensive about those I love. :) But you do seem
like WANTED to tell me, though. Was I mistaken?

/ Re: Spikebabies

I would think that the trip would be one way. Once the mana was high
enough, you would become an elf. Otherwise, no matter their power, I
do think that the 4th world elders would have become human as well. There
would be no mana for them to manipulate to keep themselves elves and they
would have died long hence, neh? No matter their magickal power, without
the mana to power it, they would have died.

/ Re: Thine Opinions

I did not ask you to apologize for your opinions, I did, possibly,
ask you to apologize for your words. And, trust me on this, I will almost
certainly disagree with you on something, even if I have to look for it.
I'm in an argumentative mood latley. But then, arguments are so much fun,
neh?

I have used and enjoyed Jerricho for a long time and I shall do the
same here. I appreciated the comments people e-mailed me but I must
admit that I enjoyed Jason's more. I so love a good argument.

What if their power was that they were somehow able to store magical energy
and thus preserve their lives? Even if they had to "power down" and become
human for a time and refrain from working magic, the postulation that they
were able to store mana either in themselves or in an object (or a home)
is not unreasonable.
