Obviously not ADMIN, eh?

Okay, I've just started getting the feedback about EDGE RUNNERS, from
those select few that requested hard copies originally (like in
Dec-Jan). So far, very positive remarks. Nothing specific yet, but good
so far.

So I have decided to try it once more. I will be, over the summer,
assembling EDGE RUNNERS II. By the time I'll be done, all the bugs
should be out and dissmeninating it should be vastly easier. But what do
you need to know?

Sometime Friday or Saturday I will be posting two items. The first will
be guidelines on format and how to get it to me (which is obviously the
most important aspect). Second, I will post an example from EDGE
RUNNERS, so you all have a better idea of what to do. It will be "Johnny
Rotten, Fixer" from my game, which I posted back in December (I think).
With these two posts, you will find everything you need to submit a
character OR NPC! to me for EDGE RUNNERS II.

And of course, I fully expect submission from people like Mr.Craig, who
tried for the first one but couldn't for technical reasons.

Stay tuned for more information...

Hey, what about electronic copies for the rest of us who contributed?
Either direct e-mail or an ftp site. If neither is possible, I'd like
a hard copy. I was just trying to save international postage :-P

I only had one major problem with it. You got my name wrong. It isn't Paul.
And who said I was psychotic? You also forgot my meta-masking but oh well such
is life.

Other than that it was a great book. Read it cover to cover yesterday(since
that is when I got it).

One question though, are you planning on doing updates to the already listed
characters? If you are I could give you an updated history on SW from where it
left off. Like his marriage to Colice Brightstar, and the recent pregnancy.

How about e-copies for the rest of us in general? An ftp site would be
great. Perhaps it could be placed at the shadowtk ftp location....

Ok, anyone interested in Haven, or there or passing through there, would
see the following things:

Valentine and his permanent faculty are scrambling. Classes are still
being taught, but every minute that the faculty aren't in teaching, they're
downstairs or in the Applied Magical Theory labs. Some of the more skilled
and knowledgable students, regardless of age, are helping in the labs.
Starting this morning, students have been placing small shamanic fetishes,
stones with ogham letters carved into them, and papers covered with
hermetic symbols on the white picket fence posts which delineate the Haven
property from the rest of Redmond. The Astral patrols have doubled, and
the ex-ganger guards at the gates have also roughly doubled. Lone Star has
increased its presence around Haven as well, on Valentine's request,
patrolling more often, as have some of the gangs which Val pays to have a
presence on the streets around Haven.

The clinic has begun stockpiling medical supplies, and a couple of medical
tents have been pulled out of storage, but not raised yet. Several dozen
portable medical beds, as well as emergency scrubs and an operating tent
with room for 6 simultaneous surgeries have also been pulled out, and about
a hundred more portable beds and a couple more medical tents have been
ordered, and people are making room for a LOT more supplies that are
supposed to arrive via truck tomorrow. At about 4PM, about 8 MDs and 25-30
other misc. nurses, anethesieologists, pharmacists, etc. will show up in a
small convoy that also includes 2 or 3 vans full of surgical gear and
first-aid materials.

I'd like all this information to become available, so if your character
would be around Haven, please comment on one or more of these things.
Thanks a lot.

Maybe you could make an announcement from Valentine asking for volunteer
blood donors (but he shouldn't expect any mages to show).

Faerie's going to shapechange a devil rat into a humanish form with Lynch's
head, cut off said head, and leave it on the town hall steps. What does
Abbaddon (sp?) have to say about that?

Probably not much. When you cut off the devil rat's head, it dies and
should AFAIK turn right back into a devil rat. And a devil rat head on
the steps of city hall will probably not get her much. The Shapechange
spell IIRC is a mana spell not a physical one, and grounds into the aura.
With the thing dead, its aura disipates and the spell should fade. I
think you would need a different kind of spell to do what you are thinking
of.

"Curses, foiled again," Faerie says, slinking off into the shadows twirling
her moustache... er... damn it.

Yes.

But you get the picture, someone is going to put a false Lynch head on the
steps, having whipped it up by magical means. How would Abbaddon react?

Erm, Mr. Plaything of a Cruel God, I don't run the Abbaddon character, but
he'd probably end up rather pissed.

First of all, Faerie would have to, one way or another, sustain the spell;
it's not a permanent spell. Has to be sustained by the caster, by a
summoned elemental of the proper type (earth I think) or be Quickened. And
all this would be terribly obvious with a single glance at the head from
the astral.

So I don't really think that Abbaddon would be terribly amused by this
little stunt. But his exact reaction isn't up to me, so...

But I thought the above needed to be pointed out.

Well, you have Kyle at Haven, if he is of any use to you. Unfortunately I
am going to be out of town tomorrow afternoon and through much of the
weekend, so if you were planning anything major to go down I'd rather he
wasn't a main (on camera) participant or you at least run it by me before
I go. Sorry, he isn't much use for ritual sorcery.

First off, the spell will dissipate and Faerie will look a bit of a
twit. :)

>What does
>Abbaddon (sp?) have to say about that?

However.

Proof....

If that really is Lynch's head, then he wants proof. A head on the
steps isn't quite enough. Hence the

"if successful and can prove it.."

If however, Faerie can supply something personal to Lynch - one of his
favourite pistols, his lighter, dna etc or something along those lines
Abbadon will pay. The terrorist attacks will die down to the
occassional racist incident and Abbadon will disappear.

He means what he says. Kill Lynch and it all ends. The payment is
honest too, though not in UCAS scrip. And life of luxury? Well, that's
relative and interpretative really His funds are considerable, but he
doesn't own ZO or a corporation. Some very powerful people though will
gladly pay the successful killer of Lynch substantial amounts. :)

Abbadon's a bit of a kook, but he has several very personal reasons for
wanting Lynch dead, and if killing every living soul in Seattle is the
only way to achieve it, he will enthusiastically throw everything he's
got into the task. His aim is not to obliterate the city, but to make
life in the shadows and on the streets as difficult as possible, the
reasoning is that the harder it is to make a living, the more likely
someone is to do something about it.

He's a patient man, and the campaign will continue until either he or
Lynch is dead. I appreciate that the outcome is rather predictable, but
hell Abbadon doesn't know that. :)

The most major thing is that there are going to be a lot of dead kids this afternoon, a
couple of which Kyle would have had in his class(es). You can worry about it later,
though.

There's some permanent shapeshifting spell in the Grimoire, though I forget
the name. There have also in the past been spells that change someone's
facial appearance permanently and not leaving any signs in the aura - used,
IIRC, by Kor/Stormwind in several plots. Shapechange might have been too
specific a wording.
