Subject: A party question posed...
Date: Tue, 5 Apr 1994 10:37:25 -0400
It was asked how I was going to post the Party and the Orca run. I was
originally planning on doing them both at the same time from only the partier's
perspectives. However, this leaves out a half(or more) of the detail and most
of the involved characters would not be mentioned except as "Hey! That's _x_!
What's he doing trying to geek Wizard?" and similar blips. So, if anyone has
a further suggestion, I'd appreciate it. The only thing I have so far is using
the Partier's post to start up things and give the details of the party, and
then switch over to maybe CoHort's drones when the hit goes down. Anything
else?

Quick note on the party...

How many deckers are actually going to BE there, anyway? Probably
Quickling will be the only one there virtually...and that could help out if
(hmm...) there's any trouble. Quickling could probably do quite a bit to help
out the issue, as the only one with access to their cyberdeck or a phone line
at all...

I'm not sure if that's going to happen EXACTLY, but keep it in mind.

Only decker?!? Well, hmmm. Nah. Waste of time to
compare cyberdecks, and someone would HAVE to go off
on 'deck envy' *groan*. But Harlequin *is* throwing
the party. He is a decker. He's even got his little
icon around the memorial in Valhalla (?) from the AI war.
Styx (yes she *is* a Mantis shaman) dabbles in decking (ain't
neural nets grand?) but not much.
And there are others on TYR's staff that deck, but none will
be there. Not saying I don't have a few surprises in store.

I probably wasn't clear on the whole what deckers thing...

Are there going to be any deckers actually with their cyberdecks
there? They can come in quite handy, sometimes...

Sure, most of them will deck. But I doubt that they'll carry their
decks with them...

Harlequin actually might bring his best out of the
closet for this thing. Why? Would you beleive he
plays the synth? He got bored and installed a synth
in his deck (No, he cannot deck and play at the same time,
one or the other uses the keys at a time) for those times
during a run when he has nothing to do. (another reason why
his deck is so fragging huge.) If asked, he _might_ bring
it out and play...but he hates entertaining solo (his friend
Spade the troll soft shoes, and Stilletto plays flute).

P.S. There really isn't a reason to bring a deck, unless your worried
that your place will be broken into and your deck stolen.

Sheena will be there and wanting to perform
yes a now Nova Rocker will be at the bash

You had better plan on Sheena convincing Harlequin to play his synth - because
Sheena is going to play along with him - this will be her first appearance
playing an instrument (she has been learning it for about 2 years now and is
getting pretty good - she a natural musician.)

Besides - if she can't convince him to play verbally - she'll probably just
carry him up on stage - and Harlequin won't like being dragged around by a woman
who is not even five feet tall. then again - he might. :)

BRIAN -
people of mine who will be there -
Spirit, Crush, Lister, Kichanski, Circuit Breaker, Sheena, and possibly Claw

I'm not sure if Fox and Dimitri will be coming.

Also - Spirit's birthday is coming up in a week and a half or so
(and she's due in three - four weeks)

Like as not, if Sheena does carry him up there, he'll
play. But she shouldn't have too many problems carring
him. His real life stats are Bod. 3 Str. 3. Can we say
that he doesn't get out much (and these are after I improved
him with karma). Being six one and 130~# means he's damn
near annorexic. *sigh* Hmmm. Wait....thats right, he's
180 #s. Forgot his cyber ware and recent muscle developement.
*grin*
Still no problem.

Or if you're really attached to it, and carry it about with you wherever
you go...
DeDannan's probably a bit like that - he's built his deck up himself, using the
top tech in the workshops of the various corps he's done research for...
Plus, he's a wanderer, even though he plans to stay in Seattle for a while...
One of his quirks is that he keeps most of his stuff in his car (a Lotus Elan
5000) - which is being shipped over from Europe at the moment, and
will probably arrive in the next day or two - instead of storing it at his
apartment, or whatever...
So, there's a _chance_ he may have it with him...
