In my grand tradition of ripping off other people's excellent ideas,
filing off the serial numbers and re-selling them... has anyone here
read "The Cobra Event" by Richard Preston?

I like it and I'm gonna steal it and use it here :) Unless too many
people know the plot already, in which case it would be boring.

Is it one of those books that have the name on front in shiny letters
slightly raised, and a hammer and sickle emblem? Featuring square jawed
american heroes saving the world... well, the democratic world,
anyway... well, at least a couple other countries than america...
maybe...

Just saving New York City, in the case of the original book.
