A whole lot of astral projection capable mages (as many as can get to
Seattle, which should be plenty) are going to meet above the Sound and have
a wild astral party, on 03-14-59, a friday unless I'm mistook. It would
have been fairly well publicised beforehand. I intend to mention it in a
few places, anyone who feels like doing the same, please do, it would make
more sense that way.

Yes, 3/14/59 is a Friday, but why would they be celibrating a _week_ ahead
of the Vernal Equinox? I mean if you are planning on a blowout party, you
might as well have a reason to. As yet, Thirstein didn't specify the
date, so that is flexible just yet.

And what about the poor sorcery, physical, and enchanting adepts and
physical mages who are a significant percentage of the magically active in
Seattle (well except for the lattermost)? Maybe a get together near the
docks, or even Haven (although the latter would require a little
permission)? I would assume that with that large a collection of
thaumaturgical power in one place, nobody is going to try anything stupid,
although it might cause a little background count fluctuation.

How about it's part of a week long festival thing, every night a meet "up"
there, until the equinox, at which time there'll be even more
rambunctiousness. People from all over north America, some from further
afield.

They can go to hell, especially the lattermost ;P

Sure, why not. And a host of mundane magophiles and magic groupies can join
them. Of course it might attract the attention of the anti-mage policlubs
and so on. A purely astral festival would be much safer, only the
sympathetic could get there.

Well, Haven has a really high background count and magic is a lot easier to
do actually _on_ the equinox. I seem to recall telling people that all the
permanent faculty are magically active and members of Valentine's magical
group. Well, there's a reason they don't actually hold the Haven parties
on the actual dates - they're all too busy working on rituals.

The party could certainly take place there, but the partiers would have to
limit themselves to outside the actual grounds of the main building - there
is a park next to the main building, though, which would be fine.

Okay. Makes more sense. Sort of like a first time for something like
SXSW (South by Southwest) which is this big deal they hold in Austin
during Spring Break to prove that "yes, Virginia there is Culture in
Texas." A hole lot of bands and indie filmmakers show up and pay homage
to Quentin, who perenially shows. I for one will be locked in my dungeon,
I mean lab...damnable research.

Haha. Berry Fuddy. Maybe I'll have Kyle shortsheet Danielle's bed. =P

Well it seems there is permission tenatively to hold it on the park area
of Haven, which seemed to me to be a good idea to keep down some of the
negatives below:

I could see some protesting by anti-magical groups outside the grounds,
but for anybody to make a major play would be kind of like walking into
an NAACP meeting with a Klan hood on. Definitely get some media attention
at least.

The ground part for those poor earth bound souls... umm yeah, sure, why not.

Thirstein will explain about the Rat when he runs into Kristling at the
astral party. The Rat is a free spirit of average to feeble power that is
currently sort of part of the shifters. It turns up at confirmations of new
members, and otherwise appears every so often, but is notoriously cowardly,
especially around the magically active, paranoid about getting bound
(again?). It was hanging around with the decker Squatter until he got
killed, last year sometime I think.
