I have an idea. I have seen some well done plot posts ("The Return of
MONICA" and the most recent "Challenge") How about we have an awards
thing, like the Oscars.

Only problems with this is that often the core of the plot doesn't take
place where everyone can see it. Like somewhat recently, there was a long
encounter involving Semetex (rest his soul), Durandal, and Laurissa. The
plot was very involved and took a lot of email to resolve, but there was
only one significant post to Shadowtk (not to say the plot deserved and
award, but I don't think it's unusual that the majority of the action and
character development took where only a select few knew about it).

The award thing would be interesting, though.

While I have to admit that having an awards thing like the oscars for plots
would be a cool thing, I don't really think it is needed.

The reason why I say this is because I feel that the reward of getting a plot
done, is enough for everyone. If you get a story and plot done well, than you
have the gratification that you can pull of a story with the best of them.
Also, it gives each person ideas on how to better themselves for future plots.

If you just look at all the plots that have been up here, I can think of
several just off the top of my head.
Highlander and the widow-maker
Ganz -- Doomsday and Shadowfox, Powerhouse, Nodie and the latest with Doctor
Dooms'(though I haven't seen to much of that one happening where all the board
can watch)
There's the Prince Solarial's appearance and whole mess that he got into with
AJ and Wyrm Ouroborous.
There's the resurface of Monica, which to me seems to have stalled.
There is also the whole story that I have been working on, that is finally
slowing down for the time being.

In addition to all the various other plots which I haven't touched.

But if this idea comes to past, let me just put up a few questions for those
who want it. . .
What would you base your decision on?
Who would have the final say on who gets what? Let's face it, we all have our
biases. Rob is probably much in favor of at least nominating the Third
Appearance of Monica for something.
And, lastly, what about all those plots that happen mostly behind the scenes. .
. like Doomsday and Shadowfox's exploration of an island owned by Ganz.

Just a few random thoughts on the awards ceremony. Please feel free to respond.

*sigh*
This is rapidly becoming a pet peeve of mine. I hoped when
I saw Dr. Doom's admin letter about it, it would at least
go away for a while.
20 hours or so isn't much of a while
Ahern, did you even read that post? Did you absolutely HAVE
to quote 11 lines of irrelevant text to put in one bloody
line expressing an opinion of absolutely no value whatsoever
to the rest of us?
How does that equation go?

IQ = Lines of new text/Quoted lines

or something like that.

At the risk of being rude, KNOCK IT OFF YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Well since everyone else is posting about stuff - here are a few of my favorite
things - I mean posts

Not by me.
Mostly any plot by Vinnie
Monica I
The Omega Island story
Death of AJ and Wyrm
Blitzkrieg
And a few others I can't remember

here are some of my better posts
The Rescue of Highlander (failed attempt)(kurgan plot)
All the original Talky posts from last Spring
The Return (the return of the team and the explaining CRUSH'es death)
The Rescue of Spirit (it was one of my better ones)

Two of the best just for who much fun I had writing them and people
have reading them

The Rage of CRUSH (begining of the Talky plot- The OH MY GOD OH MY GOD one)
and of course the ultimate in laughter

BEHEMOTH - need I say more (probably for all you new people - it was CRUSH and
the behemoth hunt - its a list classic (now on video))

Bests Villians -Dante + Monica
Best supporting villians - Tirandor + kurgan
Best heroic feats - Tommy Harada, CRUSH, (that I remember right off)
Most ignomineous - Lister (the OH MY GOD thing - and he wet his pants)
Best Wedding - well there was only one :)
Best Kiddnapping Highlander or Spirit
Most amusing Villian? - talky
Best comedy - Behemoth - or the Rage of CRUSH
(hey lets face - hardly anyone else on the list does humor)
Most memorable - "would anyone like some TOAST!!!!!" - don't you wish you could
forget it.
Best plot maker - Vinnie, in close second comes Brian
Best use of the medium to convey voice - Erin Parks (if you could understand
what the heck she was saying with Nex)
Most prolific - Brian (lets face it - the man has an evil mind for screwing
or help screwing characters over)
Best Mystique - Doctor Doom (he is just so fraggin aristocratic)

well thats it for today. Yes I am baised to my characters - but I tried to do a
good job. Remember these are just off the cuff - everyone has there high
points.
