Meine Kameraden:

Tho' there was not any general sentiment which could accurately be
described as a consensus, there were several who advocated for the awaiting
of Autumn for the resumption of the voting on the ShadowTalk Awards (still
have not settled upon an appropriate name).

There have already been approximately eight votes cast; rest
assured that these ballots have been retained. Hence, it is not necessary
to re-submit a ballot.

At present, there is no determined date for the cessation of
voting. HOWEVER, I am attempting to ascertain the remaining enthusiasm for
this project, a testing of the waters. As such, do not dawdle in deciding
to vote!

In the even of a only meager response, I shall announce as such,
and then tally the received ballots and post the results.

Voting PROCEDURE
------ ---------

Well, I am not certain how much response I am going to recieve to
this, but by way of expiramenting, here goes:

Voting shall be collected by private electronic mail. Any public
nominational votes shall not be tallied, as I wish this to be an anonymous
ballot. Dispatch a message to the address jch8169@*******.tamu.edu.

Notice that is TAM2000 -- not SUMMA.

The posting should be denoted by the subject line: SHADOWTALK VOTE. If this
is not present in the subject line, my filter program shall not single it out
for placement in a specific file; therefore, it shall not be counted.

In the letter itself, edit out all other nominees save those for which you
desire to vote on the category table included at the close of this posting.
NO further text shall be necessary.

ADMONITIONS AND STIPULATIONS
----------------------------

1. One vote per category.

2. If the proper procedure and formatting is not adhered to, your
nomination SHALL NOT be counted, regardless of the nominee's
merit. If the format is wrong, or if it is posted to the list
rather than privately it SHALL NOT be included in the tally.

3. I DO NOT wish to see any explanations on WHY someone is voting a
particular way. Any and all such diatribe shall be ignored.

4. I give you all due warning that should I catch ANYONE cheating
in this endeavor, i.e. posting multiple nominations for the same
candidate in the same category, I shall be quite . . . DISPLEASED.

This statement is not expressed due to any suspicious which I feel.
I merely wish to make my feelings clear, so that should such an
incident transpire there shall be less surprise at my reaction.

5. There is, at present, no date for when voting shall cease.
However, I do counsel you to indicate your interest by voting!
This is intended to "test the waters" regarding the enthusiasm
for this project.
