Ok guys, just want to give everyone on the list a rundown on what's
happening with us newbies here...:)

All of us in on the Bull storyline are from ShadowRN. The list has been
recently )t least until it crashed a couple days ago) been getting 200+
mails per day, and we've discussed trying to hold In Character discussions
and such there, but with all that mail, it was suggested to try here, which
is what we are doing. Bear with us, we are getting the format down. It's a
bit different than what we're used to.

Basically, the plot we are running may or may not apply to what you have
currently set up, so feel free to ignore anything that does not apply to
you're world... The way we are running things, the general public still
does not know about the bug invasion, only those few who have been involved.
There are rumors, of course, and most runners know the truth, but not all.
Bull is a strating point for us to jump from. this plot will allow us to
get familiar with each others characters. It is planned to develop into
something that will publicly reveal what is really happening to teh general
public, as well as get our characters in deep drek with the government,
several corps, and various other places... (And yes, I do talk like that
now after using the slang for the last four yearsin the RPG).

This game is going to be bent slightly to my personal view of certain
elements of Shadowrun (Chicago's situation, for one) due to the fact that I
started this mess with our group, and am pretty much coordinating it and
running it with the (much appreciated) help of Pete Sims, and am basing it
on my experiences with chicago and the world from our game. This is why
things may, at times, seem odd. Bear with us and please don't bash any
strange ideas, as we will have already worked out discrepencies among our
little group.

Well, that's it for now... Hope overall you are able to enjoy our little
dip into melodrama...:):):)

Well, see that's a problem. Everything on this list happens in the same
world. It's not my world, it's not Mark's world and it's not your world.
There are accepted beliefs on what's happening on this list and in the lists
world. If it's in the books, about a month later, it's on the list. It's a
straight SR world. No major variations from it

This is where you're going to have a problem. Revealing Bug City on
shadowtk is no big deal, because the shadowtk public already mostly know
about it, just like in the SR books. No one really believes it's a virus or
a hoax, so you can't tell the public about it. All they'll say is 'yeah,
so? what else is new?'

>This game is going to be bent slightly to my personal view of certain

If you're going to be on the list, you need to set things to the list's view
of things.

I'm not bashing your idea, I'm just telling you that there's not much point
to it. You won't be surprising anyone with news about bug city. That's a
year and a half old. It's not surprising info and definately not new.

I haven't seen any major variations in our little plot, from the standard
universe.....
We'll try to keep all the earth shattering stuff under control.
OK?

Yeh, but Bulls been in the Zone most of the time, so he doesn't know that.
Inferno knows, 'cos he lurks quite a lot on shadowlands using an old
fasioned keyboard terminal set up by a decker friend.....
(Just 'cos DA doesn't know doesn't mean I don't....)

I'd agree with that.... No need t be too egotistical....

True.....
But there might be twists within twists on a... personal level in the plot
without it being earth shaking....
Nothing wong with that, is there????

BTW, I've not seen a post from you in shadowrn since I got back....
Where'd'y go Mike?

Now that, I think, is the perfect way to do it. Make it more personal and
it's really interesting. Leave the earth shattering to the people with more
time.

You mean, you guys noticed I was gone? :) I left back in the middle of
July, and haven't rejoined. But if the list has been quite, I might just
have to :)

I'd wait a few days. At the moment, the listserv thing is being totally
shite and shadowrn's been off-line for about a day.

Before that there seemed to be some kind of 50 message limit on it.

Oh for the heady days of listproc and majordomo.....

I'm sure majordomo didn't have this much trouble when it was installed....

No: in fact it's excellent. Some of us shake the world too much,
perhaps, it's just that our plots grow a little... :) A few plots
running at a lower level would be a good idea.

Indeed it did. Listserv-Lite has been the _EASIEST_ installation
yet. Some people seem to think that I am getting paid for this,
and thus they have a right to bitch. They're wrong.

Right on, Man. I for one would like to thank everyone who helps "WORK" on
this list, so the rest of us can have some fun.I'm new to the list myself,
but I wouldn't call myself newbie. I've been reading the posts for about 3
weeks now to get a feel for what's going on. Unfortunately I haven't quite
cuaght on yet. What exactly is shadowRN?

It's a good thing Bull's plot didn't involve an assassination, or we would
be going on about Bull's hit.
